About the Speaker

Alvin Mark is a 7th generation Peranakan. With his passion for the Peranakan culture and with a collection of Peranakan antiques and artifacts amassed painstakingly over the last 20 years, Alvin Mark’s home, appropriately coined, The Intan, is a gem for visitors who want to learn more about the Peranakan culture at a personal level.
Visitors are treated to an authentic Peranakan experience with a personal tour by Alvin Mark, savour home cooked Nonya cuisine prepared by his mother and learn about the rich history, traditions & lifestyle of the Peranakans from his family.
Through his Peranakan expertise, Alvin Mark offers consultancy services to schools and organisations on matters pertaining to the Peranakan culture. An active member of the Peranakan Association, he supports them by currently being the resident Emcee for their events, and supports the Peranakan Magazine by garnering advertisers.
He has acted and sang in various Peranakan plays and he has a line of Peranakan merchandise which he distributes to places such as The Museum Shop
